On February 1, the U of M helped Land O’Lakes kick off the inaugural Farm Bowl at 3M Arena at Mariucci on the Twin Cities campus. Faculty, staff, and students, including a contingent from CFANS, were part of the crowd that cheered on farmers and football players competing to bring home the Farm Bowl trophy. Others in the U of M community participated through social media broadcasting.

Consumer psychology expert Professor Kathleen Vohs, who holds the Land O’Lakes Chair in Marketing, will be honored by the Society for Consumer Psychology as a recipient of the Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award. She will receive the award at the society’s conference in February.

Two U of M students landed coveted spots in the most recent cohort of Global Food Challenge Emerging Leaders at Land O’Lakes. This year, ten new interns have been selected out of a pool of 163 applicants—a record high. The interns are college sophomores who are working with Land O’Lakes to find new ways to meet the challenge of feeding nine billion people by 2050.
