Farm Bowl on U of M campus a big hit
CFANS dean Brian Buhr spoke at half time with Farm Bowl host Jordan Sparks.
On February 1, the U of M helped Land O’Lakes kick off the inaugural Farm Bowl at 3M Arena at Mariucci on the Twin Cities campus. Faculty, staff, and students, including a contingent from CFANS, were part of the crowd that cheered on farmers and football players competing to bring home the Farm Bowl trophy. Others in the U of M community participated through social media broadcasting.
At the half, CFANS Dean Brian Buhr highlighted the college’s contributions to research and agriculture, and thanked Land O’Lakes for supporting the next generation of ag professionals.
Billed as a “battle for the agricultural ages,” the fun and free festivities showcased the grit and tenacity necessary to “win” in the world of modern farming, and helped bring awareness to challenges and opportunities in the future of agriculture.
