Four exceptional U of M students are Global Food Challenge Emerging Leaders

Four exceptional U of M sophomores are among the recently selected Global Food Challenge Emerging Leaders for 2016-2017. Rachel Anderson, Katie Atkins, Audrey Sebastian, and Peri Warren are part of Land O’Lakes’ efforts to find sustainable, practical, and achievable solutions to world hunger. A total of 11 Emerging Leaders from six universities will collaborate with university professors as well as mentors from Land O’Lakes to develop plans to fight global hunger.

“Ag is the greatest growth industry of our generation and presents many dynamic career opportunities. We need people from different backgrounds to make a difference in feeding the growing global population,” said Lydia Botham, VP of both Community Relations and the Land O’Lakes Foundation. The Global Food Challenge Emerging Leaders for Food Security Program is in its third year.
