How did the Global Food Challenge inspire interns?

Thursday, November 17, 2016 - 11:00am

U of M food science major Katie Enzenauer was featured in The Emerging Leader, a short video produced by Land O’Lakes. Enzenauer participated in the yearlong 2015-16 Land O’Lakes Global Food Challenge Emerging Leaders for Food Security Fellowship.

Listen to what Enzenauer and one of her fellow 2015-16 interns have to say about learning from farmers who are passionate about their work, and what has shaped their own thinking about finding ways to meet the challenge of feeding more than 9 billion people by 2050.

“An Emerging Leader is someone who uses their experiences and does something with them….It’s more than just [being] on a trip to Africa. What are you going to do with what you learned there?”

-Katie Enzenauer, food science and nutrition major, University of Minnesota
2015-16 Global Food Challenge Emerging Leaders for Food Security intern
