Improving work life: UM professor speaks to Land O’Lakes HR team

U of M Professor Theresa Glomb studies work—how it is good, how it is bad, and how to make it better. Land O’Lakes invited her to share her insights at a company-wide meeting of human resources staff on April 13. Her presentation, “Let’s Make Work Better: Evidence Based Strategies for Improving Your Work Life,” looks at mood and well-being at work, and she tries to help others create positive work experiences through growth, happiness, and satisfaction. “Ultimately, I try to make work great, or at least a little better,” explains Glomb.

An award-winning professor in the Department of Work and Organizations at the Carlson School of Management, Glomb teaches U of M masters, doctoral, and executive students in the areas of organizational behavior and human resources.Her Land O’Lakes presentation was based on a TEDxUMN talk, which can be viewed here: ­
