Johanna Knorr: reflections on LeaderShape

Thursday, May 25, 2017 - 4:15pm

Johanna Knorr, ’17 B.S., took the lead on a number of ventures while earning her degree in animal science/agricultural and food business management at the U of M. She was active in her college’s student board and mentor program, president of Beta of Clovia sorority, and manager of the Gopher Dairy Bar, which she says proudly served Land O’Lakes ice cream mix at the Minnesota State Fair.

Knorr was one of 60 U of M students chosen to participate in LeaderShape this year. Sponsored by Land O’Lakes, LeaderShape is a week-long experience in which students learn about leadership, their personal potential, and goal setting.

As she neared graduation, Johanna reflected on LeaderShape's impact:

“LeaderShape pushed me to focus in on my vision for the future and helped me identify my personal strengths and passions.

“I appreciate the support Land O'Lakes provides to make this a possibility for students. I also was grateful to have the opportunity to interact with Land O'Lakes professionals, including Heidi Riese, who was the facilitator of my small group, and had a great impact on all of us.

My plans from my breakthrough blueprint [written during LeaderShape] serve as a reminder of my goals and values as I make critical plans for the future.”
