Land O’Lakes played a key role in the 4th Annual International HR Case Competition, the only truly international, graduate-level, HR-focused event of its kind in the world. It was held November 10-12, 2016, and hosted by the Center for Human Resources and Labor Studies at the Carlson School of Management.
Six teams representing Australia, China, India, South Korea, and the U.S. had less than 24 hours to solve a pressing HR issue facing lead sponsor Land O'Lakes. The competition included a site visit to the Land O'Lakes headquarters, where teams and their advisers enjoyed a tour, then heard from Chief HR Officer Loren Heeringa. The trip was designed to give the teams a deeper background on the history and growth of the organization, so they could better understand the question being posed for the competition. Land O'Lakes representatives served as judges for the competition and attended the awards dinner at the culmination of the three-day event.
