Land O’Lakes welcomes Class of 2020

Wednesday, September 21, 2016 - 3:00pm

Land O’Lakes had a big presence on the Twin Cities campus during Welcome Week 2016, thanks to a welcome video featuring Chris Policinski and sponsorship of two giveaway items.

“Students begin to see and hear about Land O’Lakes during their transition to the U of M through their support of the Welcome Week program. Our goal is that some students will eventually become Land O’Lakes employees,” says Beth Lingren Clark, director of the U of M's Orientation and First-Year Programs. “Chris Policinski’s message of encouraging students to make the most of their education comes at a time when students are especially receptive to imagining their future.”

Policinski’s video, which was created in 2015, was emailed to incoming freshmen as they arrived on campus in late August. Land O’Lakes also funded 6,400+ Land O’Lakes-branded backpacks that were distributed to incoming freshmen and transfer students. In addition, Land O’Lakes funded the keepsake Class of 2020 Pride and Spirit poster. A nationally-recognized orientation program, Welcome Week provides information and resources to new students and fosters a sense of connection on a large campus.
