Land O’Lakes played a major role in Welcome Week last September, when the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus welcomed more than 5,700 new students—one of the largest freshmen classes on record.

In a short video, Chris Policinski encouraged students to make the most of their undergraduate experience. And, thanks to funding from Land O’Lakes, each student received a bag, water bottle, and commemorative poster of the Pride & Spirit event on the field at TCF Bank Stadium. All of the items were branded with the Land O'Lakes and U of M partnership logo.

The nationally-recognized Welcome Week program aims to improve student engagement and first-year retention rates by equipping students with the knowledge and resources to make a successful transition from high school to college life.

“We know that students who feel a sense of belonging and connection to campus are better equipped to succeed in and out of the classroom,” said Beth Lingren Clark, director of the U of M's Orientation & First-Year Programs. “Our partnership with Land O'Lakes allows us to provide students with items that enhance their Welcome Week experience, which helps them to engage with their peers, discover University resources, and learn from upperclassmen how to get the most out of their college years.”
