Paying it forward with scholarships
Scholarship support plays a key role in Land O’Lakes’ multifaceted approach to building a robust pipeline of high-potential food and agriculture professionals.
Preparing students, opening doors: The Land O’Lakes Multifunctional Agricultural and Food Systems Scholarship pairs financial support with hands-on learning for transfer students in the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences. They receive $5,000 annually for up to two years while analyzing an agricultural issue with WinField United, the company’s agriculture solutions division.
During the four-month program on campus and at Land O’Lakes, students delve into a topic with employees. Topics have included precision agriculture, how to best maximize drones, and effective communication about GMO foods.
- This scholarship has served 28 students who received awards totaling $280,000
- Six students participate each year
