Telling the Land O’Lakes story: 2017-18 Gopher Athletics sponsorships
Gopher fans see and hear about Land O’Lakes via signage, game sponsorships, radio, TV, and social media and more, thanks to a Land O’Lakes partnership with Gopher Athletics.
In 2017-18, the Land O’Lakes brand received more than 23.4 million brand impressions, which refers to the estimated number of people who see or hear branding and messaging at a variety of Gopher Athletics sports events and facilities around campus.
Why sponsorships? The sponsorships are part of a long-term Land O’Lakes strategy to build visibility and brand awareness among Gopher fans everywhere, and especially U of M students--who are part of the talent pipeline for Land O’Lakes.
- Global Food Challenge Emerging Leaders were on the field during Land O’Lakes’ Gopher Football game sponsorship, which also included a video, an in-game recognition, social media exposure, and a radio interview during halftime.
- For student season ticket holders, a season-long contest was held on the Gopher Student Weekly email, where students could answer trivia questions, then have a chance to win one of two $500 UM Bookstore gift cards, a tour of Athletes Village, and lunch with Pete Janzen at the Nutrition Center in the new Land O’Lakes Center for Excellence.
